In Atrus' journal, it says that each time you change a crystal's color, you will be looking at a different Age, despite the similarity. You can change several things about the island, such as water depth and the view, by changing the colors of the crystals. Once you enter the correct shapes into the crystal viewer, you will see a lonely island. *****PUZZLE: The Journal and the Imager***** Once you've found the hidden room and read the Rime journal found there, you can solve the final puzzle. There is one more room in Rime that you need to find.

If you've seen the image of a certain Age using the crystal code on Catherine's note, then there is only one thing more to do. *****PUZZLE: The Imager and Catherine's Note***** It allowed him to view other Ages without actually travelling to them. The crystal viewer was invented by Atrus. Here there is a 'crystal viewer' and a note from Catherine. There's really no point to this except to see the lights.Ī button should be visible while the elevator is up. You can pull the switch to change the color and make the electriciy shoot out of the towers and create an aurora borealis-like lightshow. Once you get through the door you will find an elevator. There is also a gas burner and a frozen door. Inside the hut is a linking book back to Myst. At first there is nothing but a few walkways and a hut. Once you return from D'ni you will notice that the Rime journal is on the floor.

The big extra is, of course, the new Age: Rime.įirst of all you have to rescue Atrus. For one thing, there is the gravestone in the forest. There are a few extras in realMyst that did not appear in the original. Except for the extras, you can use this walkthrough to get you through the game. There are also several extras, including a new Age to explore. It is made in realtime, meaning you can walk around instead of just 'looking at slides.' Because of this, it became possible to include weather and day/night cycles.

And then there's realMyst, which is different.

It is simply the same as Myst but with slightly enhanced graphics. The game is played where you see the scenes as 'slides' and you click where you want to walk. I should mention that Myst is pre-rendered. It came out in 1993 and was very popular it had the best graphics of its time and was at the top of the best-selling charts until it was surpassed by The Sims in 2002 (curse them!).
